This four-course menu will transport you to the Village of “El Zapote” in Honduras where “Café El Zapote” Coffee comes from. The Clouds chefs have taken the challenge of integrating Café El Zapote coffee beans in each of the course of this exclusive dinner. Let our chefs surprise you with innovative combinations of flavors that will start with chia breadsticks with coffee hummus & Black olives coffee skewers, then continue with the one of a kind Emilia Caprese Salad with balsamic-coffee reduction. The Exclusive Dinner will reach its peek with the Coffee marinated ground beef served on spaghetti, parmesan cheese and espresso-tomato sauce and be concluded with its sweet and airy El Zapote Tiramisu!

Café El Zapote

Cafe El Zapote was established in Ames, IA with the sole purpose to support farming communities in Honduras. Café El Zapote is a certified non-profit 501(c)(3) that purchase coffee at a fair price from Café Hacia El Futuro, or The Association, which is a small group of 21 coffee farmers that live and work in the Honduran village of El Zapote de Copan. As a nonprofit, Café El Zapote is able to pay the Honduran farmers twice much per pound of coffee than the competition does. By doing so, Café El Zapote is able to support the 21 farmers and their families in a sustainable way.

Fundraising opportunity

With this dinner, we will also have a fundraising opportunity for anyone to support the Café El Zapote farmers. Café El Zapote is raising money for its’ Agriculture Development Fund that will assist in the construction of a new 'wet milling' coffee processing facility within the village of El Zapote. This project will directly benefit the Association of 21 coffee farmers in El Zapote by providing additional economic opportunities, prevent further environmental degradation, and streamline their collective group processing to one location. During the evening, there will be a silent auction and many opportunities to support the Wet Mill project and the 21 farmers from El Zapote. At the end of the dinner, we will announce the total donation that has been collected during this one-month fundraising.
